Fil-Am Fest, Southeast San Diego

Every October the familiar streets of Paradise Hills, San Diego come alive with a festival that brings together all generations and celebrates the local Filipino American community.

FilAm Fest is a fairly recent phenomenon but has already garnered the support of 15,000 attendees. The event is free. FilAm Fest Info

The Goals of FilAmFest are:

-to foster a sense of community and enhance pride in the Filipino cultural heritage;

-to build intergenerational collaboration and cultural understanding among children, youth, adults and seniors;

-to promote effective networking among individuals and various groups representing businesses, civic organizations, local government, educational institutions and public agencies; and

-to revitalize the Paradise Hills community as a place to raise families, operate businesses and collaborate with diverse peoples, groups, and institutions.
